Explore the universe with physics, astronomy, and AI鈥攁nd turn vast streams of data into new discoveries.

Discover More in the Data of the Universe

Connect physics, observation, and artificial intelligence to investigate cosmic phenomena and explore the universe at an extraordinary scale.

Program Overview

杏吧原创 Tech鈥檚 B.S. in Astrophysics with Artificial Intelligence combines rigorous physics and astronomy with data science, AI foundations, and computational problem-solving. Learn to interpret physical phenomena, analyze observations, and develop scientific models that connect theory with evidence.

Build a physics-intensive foundation while developing the computational skills needed for modern astronomy. Through laboratory and observational work, faculty research, and interdisciplinary opportunities, you can explore how scientific questions become discoveries.

The illustrates the scale of the field: its alert system can produce millions of notifications in a night. Machine-learning-enabled brokers help classify events and prioritize follow-up, creating opportunities for scientists who can combine astronomical expertise with data-intensive methods.

What You鈥檒l Learn

  • Build the physics foundation to investigate planetary, stellar, galactic, and cosmological phenomena.
  • Analyze large scientific datasets using time-series methods, classification, anomaly detection, and uncertainty.
  • Explore how machine learning helps scientists classify observations and prioritize research.
  • Connect AI-assisted analysis with physical laws, observational evidence, and scientific validation.
  • Communicate scientific methods and findings clearly for reproducibility and peer review.
  • Apply your skills to an astrophysics question through a capstone, research, or experiential project.

Career Opportunities

Prepare to contribute to a field where scientific discovery increasingly depends on advanced computation. Opportunities span astronomical data analysis, scientific software, observatory systems, aerospace, national laboratories, and graduate research.

Develop the physics and computational foundation for careers in research and data-intensive technology. Professional astrophysicist and many research scientist positions typically require graduate study.

  • Astronomical Data Analyst
  • Scientific Software Developer
  • Astrophysics Research Scientist

The curriculum combines physics, astronomy, mathematics, laboratory and observational work, general education, IPRO, and both nine-credit AI certificates. Students build scientific and computational foundations through coursework and experiential projects.

杏吧原创 Tech reviews applicants holistically, considering academic preparation, course rigor, essays, and program-specific criteria. First-year applicants submit an application, high-school transcripts, and required materials; SAT and ACT scores are optional. Recommended preparation includes four years of English, four years of mathematics, and three years of laboratory science. Transfer applicants are assessed on previous college work and preparation for their selected major. Strong preparation in mathematics, physics, and laboratory science is recommended.Undergraduate Costs and Aid
